I agree with this.

Don't add it by default, but certainly create a button that can be
added in the toolbar configurator....Or maybe not.  Maybe if offline
status messages are enabled, make the behavior of the offline button
match that preference.

I'm a bit handicapped b/c I haven't actually seen the GUI for this. 
Misha, can you do a new build for Windows?
