I got the same issue with psi in a vnc window. I can paste into xterms
running inside vnc, but not into psi. So I usually end up pasting into
an xterm, selecting the string there, again, and then pasting into psi.

I never really tried to find the cause of this, but IIRC this is not
psi-specific, but a qt issue.

Sometimes I think some of the debian people are the ones smoking... but
that's a different issue *g*
