I constantly switch 'show self contact' too, and only once changed 'show
away contacts' in my life. The only difference between 'show self
contact' and 'show away contacts' is perhaps that one usually has the
former off and the latter on. So maybe the defaults should change ?

A better comparison might be the 'Show/hide Transports': this is one
that i never change (unless Psi turns it back on automatically, which is
really a pain :( ), and that most people probably want set to 'off' by
default. This also affects the roster items, and also isn't in the
options.

Anyway, if there's consensus that the option should come back, i can
always put it back, but i think that this is more 'logical' (i.e. all
show/hide toggles that affect the roster grouped in one combobox,
optionally having a button for each in the roster), and that only one way of
changing this is a better thing. 

In short, these are possible things to do (not mutual exclusive):
- Introduce the 'show self contact' as an option again, breaking some
  logic with other toggles that aren't in the options.
- Change the default of 'show self contact' to 'false'
- Add the 'show/hide toggles' in the Psi main menu.
- Introduce a 'Show self contact' button in the default button bar, next
  to the other show toggles.
- Instead of introducing show/hide toggle buttons for each roster in the
  default toolbar setup, just add the combobox group with all the
  'show/hide' toggles.
