As a comparison, here's how iChat does it atm: iChat has only 3
statuses: online, away and offline. The status menu looks like this:
	Online
	Recent 1
	Recent 2 
	Recent 3
	---------
	Away
	Recent 1
	Recent 2
	Recent 3
	---------
	Offline
	---------
	Edit status menu

The 'edit status' menu opens a dialog with all presets for both Online and
for Away, which you can edit (remove and add presets to both statuses),
and where you can also choose "remember custom statuses". iChat
remembers _all_ custom messages.

I personally have enough with 4 statuses: online, away, invisible,
offline. All the other ones are derived from these. But hey, i didn't
invent the Jabber protocol, so i guess we're stuck with all the other
statuses as well, so the iChat way might not work here.
