I think that is the consensus, and I agree.  I'll be making those

It's been decided in the FS project that anything like this would go
through a back-end that did not yet exist.  Then a company paid Tony a
nice amount to implement an xml-rpc back-end, which has been
completed.  A couple of others on the project want an email
integration like you have mentioned, so we might see something like
that soon.
