Ok, I had to google about this, and I guess NASA has had a Jabber service for 
awhile now, at least since 2002.  Here's a mail from the admin looking for 
Psi alternatives:

So you're saying that today they use iChat, but they still need Psi for 
registering transports?  They just can't get rid of that thing, can they? :)
