Get me a copy of Fedora and I'll try my hand at making an RPM.

We may want to look at autopackage too. It might be able to get a
universal Linux package. I don't know exactly if we would need to do any
tweaks since autopackage does some linking trickery. It appears to be a
good application packager, minus the gtk segfault.
