Well, seems we're talking about two different things. My jabberd 1.4.3
(unpatched and stone old) /can/ store offline messages and does very
well when I last checked. However, I'm going to re-check this tomorrow.

Does your 'CVS' Psi show "Last status message" when you hover an offline
contact? I can't remember what Patryk's version did, it's been a while I
used it, but it certainly had offline message support, iirc he wrote
that somewhere, too.
