Too bad, because it seems to be the compiler which is giving you 
trouble, so you'll have to learn to live with it i guess.  Not using 
gcc 3 for your own programs because it accepts code you don't like is 1 
thing; not using it to compile _other_ programs, i personally don't 
understand.
