PLD also applies more than several patches but all of them seem to be 
pretty stable (I use the patched version every day).

I respect the Psi devs work but IMHO they do no always know what should 
go into Psi especially considering the Polish market. The richroster and 
offline status thing is a must have for a IM client here.

In PLD the patches are added on the DEVEL branch and go into the distro 
with each new release of Psi (on DEVEL we have CVS snapshots). From my 
experience nobody complained but on the other side PLD is not a 
widespread distribution for casual users.

Maybe there should be a policy for obligatory tagging the modified versions?
