You don't mean per-contact setting about whether to inform me when they
unauth me? "Yes, I don't care about this one, just ignore unauthing me,
but if that contact ever dares to unauth me, please tell me at once!" I
wouldn't ever make this setting for all my contacts in advance.

Per-contact popup notifications would be it! I'm quite happy with them
now, although it's not production-stable yet.
Well, if we ever offer an option like that and people would find it,
too, and understand its meaning, I'm close to sure they would all enable
it. Of course it might be shocking for some getting this message (and I
also have to think for myself, this is only a technical issue, when I
get this notification) but then most people will be curious enough that
they want to get informed about this.
So imo we should concentrate on making this message more comprehensible
instead of arguing whether or not to display it at all. It should stay
where it is, but not necessarily what it is.
