The standard becoming draft is not the thing that worries me. The PubSub
part is the one that is scary; last time i looked at it, it seemed that 
it wasn't ready for using in IM clients. I didn't follow the discussions
lately, maybe they solved all my problems in the meantime, although i 
doubt it.
