[Psi-devel] 0.10 and Qt4 Conversion (independant)

Ok, it's been a long time since 0.9.3 and I promised a faster release schedule under the new management, so here is my plan:
0.10 is now feature-frozen. Bug-fixes only from this point. Anything that was previously due in 0.10 is now due in 0.11, 0.11 in 0.12 etc, with every version getting rolled back. To anyone who thinks about complaining that we're delaying including MUC, UI improvements, [other cool 0.10 feature here]: please don't; we're not. We have a version of Psi at the moment that's mostly stable so we're going to patch it up and release it. Nothing has been delayed, just think of the 'new' 0.10 as being an interim release before the 'real' 0.10 is released as 0.11.
I'm aiming for a release in July, with a much better release than 0.9.3 had with regards to translations and packages, both of which were messy in 0.9.3.

This leads us rather disconnectedly onto the next topic.

Qt4 is coming soon, and I'd like to get Psi converted as soon as possible thereafter to reduce the subsequent workload involved in the conversion. I'm therefore considering making conversion to qt4 the priority after 0.10 is released. This is somewhat more controversial than the release of 0.10. Please realise however that we're still several months away from 0.11, in which time distros will be able to package the new version of Qt etc. I imagine there will be uproar from anyone with uncommitted patches at this stage but they'll be in one of two states; either they'll be small patches that're trivial for the author to convert, or they're large non-trivial patches, in which case the author is far better qualified to deal with converting them than we are.

Anyway, I'm getting these thoughts out there for some discussion. The 0.10 release isn't really negotiable but I'd like to hear opinions on Qt4.

/K
