Great idea, as I already proposed long time ago. :)

That would be the easiest way. Of course, people will keep posting to
the wrong forum, but it shouldn't be too much work for the moderating
team to get that moved around. At least, this operation is possible at
all in a forum where mailing lists don't even allow editing of posts...

You have to register for a forum, too, like for a mailing list, but
+) you have the archives in the same format as new posts
+) as a consequence, you can reply in a readable manner (and there's a
   unified search over it all)
+) there's no broken mail clients splitting up threads and mangling
   subjects
+) you don't need special software or configure it
+) as I said, moderating is possible (and also sticky topics and the
   like...)

-) A web interface is slower than a local application, but I hope this
   is going to change with the new website/server?

I think you got it: of course, I'm a great fan of forums (see my
signature...) - if the software is good. :)

@Mircea: Yes, development information is subject to change, but we can
add big signs there, telling all this. If a user is too dumb|blind|.* to
read it, this shall not be our problem.
