Can't agree with that... If someone doesn't reply to one of the things 
you said, typed, etc then didn't they receive it? Did they ignore it? 
Did they miss it because they only read the last thing(s) you sent? Did 
they thing that a response wasn't warranted? Did they think that what 
you said was just bullshit so they chose to ignore it? IMO it's 
extremely important that messages that you send really _do_ arrive. IMO 
delivery confirmation isn't neccessarily the way to go, IMO XMPP on 
itself should make _sure_ that they message either arrives or that it 
bounces just like Email (normally :D) does. At the moment it's just too 
easy for an XMPP message to just get lost in space...
