This is definitely the job of the AIM<->Jabber gateway server software, and
Find out what Jabber software your server is using, contact the vendor/author
of that software to get the feature added, and then convince your server
administrator to upgrade.
Or just simply tell your administrator your feature request, and hopefully
he'll take it from there.
