I think I would like to see,
"|X| Only show the first line of status messages in the roster"
as an option too. I can see this option as one that many users will tweak, 
not just 0.01%. It might be nice to limit the amount of lines a roster item 
can use, but that's getting a little too complicated I'd say. I do agree 
with you that the other options mentioned are more advanced tweaks, so if 
they get included in the main build, they should be buried in some advanced 
options that most people won't touch.
