Read up on UUIDs. They're guaranteed to be unique because they make use
of your MAC address and the current time. Qt includes a UUID class, but
at least under Linux it creates phoney UUIDs. I made use of OSSP's UUID
library in MyPasswordSafe and have a wrapper class already made up for
it along with an ebuild. So if anyone wants to use it I can send it along.
