[Psi-devel] jabber:iq:gateway handling

Hi folk!

Just so you know where I'm coming from here, I'm the author of PyAIM
and PyICQ. So I was looking over JEP-0100, specifically the section
on jabber:iq:gateway:

http://www.jabber.org/jeps/jep-0100.html#addressing-gateway

And if you take a look at Example 55, you'll see that the transport
is supposed to return <jid>whatever</jid>. However, PyAIM/MSN/ICQ-t
all return prompt instead of jid... and apparantly that's what Psi
wants. =) Not that it's probably proper, but I have tweaked PyICQ
(soon to be in PyAIM as well) to return both jid, as specified in the
JEP, and prompt, as Psi seems to want. Question is... is the JEP
wrong or is Psi expecting the wrong thing? Obviously we've been
sending <prompt>..</prompt> for a long time now, and Psi's been happy
with it. I'm not entirely sure if I've even seen any other clients
that support this.

Daniel
