You should be warn that a the uri handler would the first targeted for
security concern.
Skype have some similar pb, so take your time and review the code with some
semi-automatique testing.
(you could even try some fuzzer/fuzzing tools later one) - some linux
application could also help to repport dangerous function to avoid buffer
overflow.
Gnome can handle URI and open the specific application (any - not related to
QT)
