Hmm, long time since i used windows. But my impression was that native is
that single click will bring up a small widget near the tray icon and
double click will show the main application window.
(e.g. the volume trayicon would bring up the main volume as a single slider
on click and the mixer app on a double click)

But i guess you should just check what MSN Messanger does... It's the
native IM client ;)
