Indeed.  And my mail client (kmail) stops before the underscore in the 
wikipedia links.

You're right, it cannot ever be perfect, but it is a shame that the wikipedia 
links don't work.  Maybe we could change it so that if there is an open 
parenthesis within the URL (or if you want to get really hacky, one that is 
touching an underscore), then a closing one will be accepted as part of the 
URL.
