You are right and I agree but that's not actually what I meant.  I'm
just talking about a barrier to entry theory.  If the amount of work
required to implement cool stuff is greater than the benefit gained,
nobody will implement the cool stuff but the unemployed geeks with no
significant others.  That's not enough of an audience for something
really good to change.

So if you think the JEP could be expanded to hit a wider audience
while requiring fewer overall changes (e.g. a server-side only
option), I think you should do that.  Remember, we are not talking the
jabber community anymore, you are going for the HTTP community.
Several orders of magnitude larger.
