[Psi-devel] Data Transfer Proxies

Hi everybody.

I remembered today an idea I had some time ago, but never got to the point of
actually asking people to comment on it.

What do you think about including a list of data transfer proxies within Psi,
so that, transparently, when a direct connection fails, a proxy from a known
list would be chosen?

Also, Psi only uses only ONE transfer proxy right now but, apparently, the
protocol supports sending a list of proxies on negociation.

Including a (default) list of proxies would help improve the Jabber experience
in my opinion for newcomers. There are some issues though:
1) how to create that list of servers
2) if the server owners allow including their servers in a list

Note: as far as I know Gajim already does this.

What do people think about this?
