Hi,


Hal wanted Windows Vista to be detected properly, so here's my patch for 
Windows recognition. It's much more advanced than the recognition done 
inside Qt - for example, it distinguishes Windows XP Professional x64 
from Windows Server 2003 (which share the same kernel). Of course, it 
detects Windows Vista ;)

You can also include more information than the simple Windows version, 
but also edition (for Windows NT/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista line) and 
Service Pack version. Just change the call parameters (the defaults are 
not to include that info).


The code is very up to date - it was updated last week to include 
information about some of Windows Vista editions.
