However, in the described case, person reporting the feature request 
uses full-screen applications (gaming, watching movies, watching/giving 
presentations, etc). Usually you would rather not want to be disturbed 
in such circumstances, so that's why the use of DND status is preferred 
here. Of course, once you finish your full-screen activity, you may 
return to normal status (online) and receive all chats/messages/whatever.
