FWIW, I've been running nightlies (downloaded, not self-built) on
10.4.9PPC, and I've not seen this hang at all. I normally connect to
an internal server (Oracle Messenger Server) which uses plaintext
auth and no SSL, and jabber.org and jabber.palomine.net using SSL.
All seems fine here...
Just a data point. Feel free to shoot me questions on- or off-list if
you want to compare notes to see if there are any significant
differences in our setups that might cause the different behavior.
