if the address is forced.
I think Qt supports IPv6 out-of-the-box, but I bet the SRV lookups are
going around the box :-)

NDns originally was made as an alternative to Qt's own dns
implementation, which had numorous problems in the past
e.g. there was a time when Qt would misread /etc/resolv.conf,
rendering dns unusable
NDns was just gethostbyname (n = native)
however, we still used QDns for SRV and potentially IPv6, but then
later i discovered that IPv6 bug that you read about in the mailing
list post
the "future" of psi dns is to use the irisnet dns stuff, which i
believe is in psi darcs but disabled right now
but the rumor is that remko runs psi with it enabled and has no
problems reported yet
enabling that might be all you need for ipv6, but i can't remember
