[Psi-Devel] Importing aliases and groups

Hello there,


the jabber server I was using for MSN and ICQ transports
(gpl.insa-lyon.fr) does no longer respond for 2 weeks, without any sign
of activity on their website (is this related to the recent contract
the INSA signed w/ M$?).

Well, now I have created a new jabber id to another server, but of
course I get a plain raw contact list from the MSN and ICQ servers,
IOW I lost all the aliases I've set to the contacts, and group
dispatching too.

I'd like to avoid having to manually set alias and group properties for
my hundreds contacts - thing I already had to do when I moved from Gaim
to Psi.

Since editing the config.xml file while offline doesn't work (edits
will get lost when going online), is there another way to "import"
aliases and groups from an old account to a new one?

If a "reference account" property is set to a new account, could it
be possible (programmatically or using a plugin called upon specific
events) to make sure that every contact that gets added to the new
account list will have its alias and group imported from the reference
old account?
