Concerning pasting source code: AFAIR, Psi sends the tabs, but displays 
them just like Web browsers do (stripped trailing spaces and tabs, tabs 
and multiple spaces replaced with a single space).
You can confirm that by turning on XML Console (it's available both in 
main Psi menu and in account's context menu) and watching the messages 
being sent over the Internet. They *should* be in original formatting.

One thing worth mentioning is that history files should contain the 
original formatting of the message (including tabs and multiple spaces). 
But again, when viewed by Psi, they are reformatted.

Unfortunately, if you select and copy text from the upper part of the 
chat/MUC dialog, the text is copied with altered formatting.

There was some discussion about introducing a special mode for sending 
such messages, but it would be proprietary for Psi.

Please also note that messages (not chats/MUC) do not change the 
formatting of the sent messages.
