... or install "sux" (su + X), and run Psi with:
$ sux root psi

This will ask you for the root password and start Psi with the root 
credentials. This will open up a hole only for Psi (as far as I know) 
compared to "xhost +" which will allow any app to be run on X no matter what 
source/user.
