I can only assume you've never used Psi on OS X and therefore never  
experienced the problem. It's not a matter of speed tweaks; it's  
erroneous behaviour. The program is only borderline usable.

Psi wouldn't be the only Jabber client with a problematic framework -  
look at Coccinella... (for all its quirks, at least Coccinella  
doesn't have this particular issue).
