You can post to forums, maybe this would be fit your needs more.

Ctrl+I (by default, you can change this)

I think most of the changes can be turned off in options.

0.10 used to ask all your contacts for their client info automatically. 
And this was a bad idea (flooding). Right now, client info is provided 
automatically if it is received via XEP-0115 (Entity Capabilities). 
Older clients don't support it and don't send this information. However, 
you can still manually get it using "the old way" if you open user info 
dialog.

Sounds almost like people who want "perfect invisibility" feature and 
"ability to detect when friends are invisible" ;)
