[Psi-Devel] Psi for the blind?

Is Psi designed to be accessible for blind people? As a university,
we're required to comply with Section 508 <http://www.section508.gov/>

Specifically, we have some blind users that use the JAWS screen reader.
Our initial attempts at using JAWS with Psi (0.11) have been unsuccessful.

Here is the report from our early tests ... Neal (blind) having his wife
help:

<quote>
I had Gini look at what came up when I ran the program. Here is what
she saw. There was a dialog with buttons that said, "Set up a new
account," Use an existing account," and Cancel." None of those buttons
were available to JAWS. When Gini pressed the "Cancel" button, we got
things like "Useful tips. You can right click on the server name in
your roster to perform several different actions, you can change status,
modify account settings, perform administrative options, etc."

Once again, none of this text or the buttons were available to JAWS
either by tabbing, Arrowing, or using the JAWS or Mouse cursor.

I think it's safe to say that if one cannot set up an account, using the
chat application will be totally impossible. I don't know how
accessible the client is if one can ultimately set up an account, but
given what we saw and didn't hear tonight by using the screen reader, I
have a few doubts. By the way, I used JAWS 7, JAWS 8, and JAWS 9 which
all rendered the same lack of information.
