[Psi-Devel] Receiving files from Google Talk

Hi,

Following Kev's advice http://forum.psi-im.org/post/32829 , I've
investigated configure-jingle, and after spending several hours fixing
all sorts of problems, I've managed to receive files in Psi from GT.
So, the outcome is great, and I praise those who has actually written
code for that :).

Now, I see, the feature is essentially ready, and I would like to see
it working in Psi 0.12. I mean, just ability to receive files from GT
is more than enough for me - without sending files or VoIP. Do you
think it's possible and feasible to go this way? As I understand, full
jingle interoperability is not on the roadmap for 0.12.

The main problems as I see now:
1. Now, libjingle 0.3.0 is included as "default" one, but filetransfer
is supposed to work with 0.4.0. Changing 0.3.0 to 0.4.0 apparently
breaks VoIP part, if I'm not mistaken.

2. I have encountered several standards/gcc problems during
compilation; it seems that the package was not supposed to be built on
gcc/linux? :). So, it may involve patching libjingle.

Is anything overlooked?

Ihar
