The same happens with any secure web application: if you wait too
long, you get disconnected.

This said, we should implement a procedure that at least tries to log
in automatically, and submit the information if nothing changed to the
server, and give an error in the other (unlikely) case. However, this
involves a non-trivial bit of code for this convenience that should
only rarely pose a problem, so I guess it's not very high on our list.
