Aaah, well that might explain why I have no other connotations to the 
word "PSI", then.  I happen to know that "PSI" means "pound per inch" 
because Google conveniently says so when I search for "psi".

In ZA we use bar for tyre pressure, although when we do get your tyres 
checked, we generally don't mention the unit.  I would simply say "erm, 
make them two point one in front and two point three at the back".  I 
suspect that is because no-one is exactly sure whether its bar or 
kilobar and you don't want to look like a fool by saying the wrong one.
