Hi folks,
You may have noticed the Barracuda Networks company logo on the Psi website,
or you may have seen credits to that company in some of my work. I haven't
yet made a big deal about the relationship between Barracuda and Psi, but now
I feel it is appropriate to make a special announcement.
At Barracuda, I work on the Psi-derived client portion of the IM Firewall
product. For more information about the IM Firewall, go here:
http://www.barracudanetworks.com/ns/products/im_overview.php
The client is GPL, and shares much of its code with Psi. All of my work
involving the shared code takes place in the public repositories. This is a
fantastic setup, as I effectively get to work on Psi as part of my day job.
For the past year, Psi has already benefited from this arrangement, and you
can expect great things to come.
Heck, expect great things from Barracuda in general. They've become strong
open source proponents lately, especially with the Trend Micro patent case.
I'll tease you by mentioning that the IM team is working on another
Jabber-related project, which you'll probably hear about later this year.
Have fun!
-Justin
