[Psi-Devel] psi, plugins and NowPlaying status

hello,

i would like to ask you, where could i get information about Psi's 
plugins. more specifically, are there any restrictions in writing the 
plugin (programming language, programming style etc.)?

what else do i need to know to write a plugin? my goal is to create a 
plugin, which would update the user's status from Winamp's (or later any 
other media player) now playing track.

is there any unified documentation to all this plugin-stuff?
