Yes, I've tried to put a workaround for when mic input fails, but maybe it
doesn't work 100%. I'm glad to hear that gstreamer's own mic test app
crashes.

Psi is not compatible with Google Talk. Someday the two should be compatible,
when Google Talk changes to the official Jingle protocol.
That said, Psi voice calls do not work if you are behind a proxy. Your
network needs to allow UDP. In the future we will investigate non-UDP
methods for voice calls, such as TCP or HTTP.
