Adding an IPv4 name server address to /etc/resolv.conf fixed the problem. There was a bug in glibc that blocked DNS over IPv6 about half a year ago, but this is obviously a different issue.

Anyway, Psi keeps using IPv4 only, it never uses IPv6. Neither for DNS queries, nor for XMPP connections.
